If your Web site is designed to be seen by others then making the site is only part of the challenge. The real trick is getting people to visit your site. In order to be a part of this make-or-break traffic, your site MUST be in the top 30 and ideally in the top 10 listings for your selected keywords and search phrases. Tuning a Web site to obtain this level of ranking is truly an art form that few have mastered.

• Virtually everyone begins their Web browsing at one of the eight major search engines. Your rank within these engines determines how many visitors will find your site.
• Major search engines attract more distinct visitors than almost any other Web site. Yahoo! alone boasts 55 million page views a day!
• Other forms of online advertising such as banner ads and mass mailings cost significant money and consumers are getting more and more immune to these types of advertising schemes every year, which means the techniques are becoming less and less effective. |
